Dreamcast VM2 FINALLY winding up in peoples hands!
IM SO EXCITED to get mine! (soon….) But Derek Pascarella, known for his amazing translations of classic Japanbese dreamcast games has recieved his VM2 and THAT MEANS we will be getting ours soon too! We couldnt order ours until a bit late in the game so we are likely not on the list for the first batch it seems. Anyways, its stil really exciting news and i really can NOT wait to try out this BRAND new VMU with a backlit, higher resolution screen, PC connection, and an SD card slot!

We have found an intriguing offering catering to enthusiasts of SEGA and GENKI products.
The focus this time is on the iconic SEGA Dreamcast console. My Full thoughts on RENT-A-HERO No.1 translation after playing it for seven hours, should you play it?
From my first experience streaming Rent-A-Hero No.1, the gameplay loop was a bit slow… As the game progressed though it quickly becomes addictive and rewarding. Starting with only basic moves, the battles quickly become more challenging, but never frustrating. It's satisfying to defeat bad guys and get rewarded with money that I can use to keep my RAH suit charged and to buy food for health points, and batteries to keep the suit running! And also…. As a diehard Dreamcast fan, I couldn't be more thrilled about the recent news that the beloved, but obscure, 2000 Sega title, Rent-A-Hero No. 1, has finally been translated by a group of talented modders. Sega may have let us down by not bringing the game to Western audiences, but these modders have picked up where the company left off and created a comprehensive translation of the game that allows us to finally experience it in all its glory.

Yoko Taro's New Game 404 GAME RE:SET to Feature Cute Anime Girls of Classic SEGA Titles
Yoko Taro, SEGA, and illustrator Yuugen have teamed up for a new mobile RPG, 404 GAME RE:SET, featuring adorable anime girls based on classic SEGA titles like OutRun, After Burner, Virtua Fighter, and Virtua Cop. Too many amazing girls from Dreamcast to not include them eventually! The game promises to dive deep into SEGA's gaming history and provide plenty of gacha potential. Fans are excited to see which other old-school games will make an appearance and speculate that the story may tie back to Yoko Taro's other works. The game is set to release later this year in Japan. This rhythm-based shooter garnered a devoted following and has since become a timeless classic. Now, game enthusiasts can anticipate the release of Rez Infinite on two additional PlayStation platforms, namely the PlayStation 5 and PlayStation VR2. The game's new versions will be published by Enhance and developed by Monstars and Resonair, with a scheduled launch date of February 22nd. True this tweet is from days ago at this point, but better late than never! This here is the tweet and countdown timer on a special site that is sparking so much Sega speculation! The title of csmashvrs.com obviously would make Dreamcast fans instantly think C(osmic)SMASHVRS(versus).com maybe a multiplayer Cosmic Smash port to other consoles. For those unaware, coming from the NAOMI arcade system, Cosmic smash was a pretty cool and stylish game ported to the Dreamcast console. It’s a single player, futuristic combination of squash and Breakout, given its single player nature, we here at the hub would imagine the VRS part of the webite URL is going to be a pretty big deal… Either VR or Versus, only time will tell.

These photos from Derek Pascarellas twitter, showcase the FIRST IMAGES of the first test production of this incredible leap forward in Dreamcast and indie production for the Dreamcast! This once small but ambitious IndieGoGo, really felt like some lofty goals, but they have been met, and its ACTUALLY REAL! and Shipping starts in July! ?ref=DChub
Its really astonishing we made it here at all! I thought itd never be possible to create even just a new VMU, let alone one like the VM2 with DOUBLE the screen resolution and a freakin SD CARD SLOT! LETS GO, LETS GO, LETSSS GOOOOO! Just look at these features! There is SO MUCH you can do now the way the VM2 massively upgrades our saving experience. But I’m personally incredibly eager at the prospect of this new device respawning the indie VMU game creation crowd, to make new things to play on the go, (Gigapet and Tomagachi ports anyone?) with double the resolution, it may even be able to emulate gameboy, (though far fetch’d, maybe with some overclocking it might be possible one day…) Whether or not it has the processing power for that, remains to be seen. but COULD YOU FREAKIN IMAGINE?!?!? (even as unlikely as it is) GB roms playable on a VMU?!?!? What a time to be a Dreamcast fan!
Spoiler alert: I INSTANTLY backed this campaign the moment I had the funds! (This is not fincial advice) but I TRULY believe in this product coming to fruition, and it may change everything as we know it! I know for certain it will replace basically every VMU I own at the very least. Also pretty stoked to be just playin VMU games on the go like its normal!

More hopes and dreams of a Dreamcast Mini
Pete Davison of Rice Digital made a SOLID list of some games that really should be on a possible Dreamcast mini if it were to come to fruition. With all this recent speculation, its really seeming more and more likely. Glad to see this list has one or two less known games that are amazing. Usually these lists only have the usual suspects, but this is a pretty solid list. Not enough games here for a full roster (and severely lackin in the MARS MATRIX department) in my opinion, but its def a great start!
Den of Geek predicts a dreamcast Mini in 2023!
WE ALL have hopes for a Dreamcast Mini… as long as we can add our own games, (obviously). Den of Geek is makin the bosed prediction of a 2023 projection for our dreams to come true! Not gonna lie, I would be one of the first throwing my money at Sega if this happens, though its been rumored for years and I’m starting to think that Sega just cant stand profits at this point if im honest… Either way, we can at least dream.

ASUS announced new ROG Raikiri, ROG Raikiri Pro Xbox controllers with screen in the center top just like our beloved Dreamcast! lets be honest, Microsoft have already taken SO MUCH from the Dreamcast as they did in the 2000’s when the late Peter Moore left SEGA to apply what he learned to the budding video game sector of Microsoft. Well his spirit lives on in this brand new ROG Raikiri premium controller. Honestly its aesthetic is quite gripping, and its flat black and contrasting textures on an asymmetrical design is a great touch of futuristic design! ( I kinda want one for my PC )

Despite coming out several months before the Playstation 2, the hype surrounding Sony’s then-unreleased console didn’t do the Dreamcast any favors when it came to sales. To make matters worse, third-party software developers such as Electronic Arts and SquareSoft, the team behind the Final Fantasy franchise, didn’t support the console. Additionally, Sega didn’t put a lot of money into marketing the Dreamcast and gave up on it before it had the chance to get off the ground. The company got out of the console business altogether and discontinued the Dreamcast in the spring of 2001.
But over two decades later, there is a small but rabid group of gamers who want to know what they missed while hypnotized in front of their Playstations and Nintendo Game Cubes. Stephen Robinson, who runs the website and YouTube Channel Dreamcast Hub, believes that people love to root for an underdog, which is why Dreamcast continues to capture the imagination of gamers….

This little game seems to be almost a one-man band work carried out by Alfonso Martinez AKA Ryo Suzuki . He has been developing “ Non Casual Encounter “ for years learning how to do it with the Dreamcast BennuGD port that brought us Xavi Indiket . The Prologue disc will be available in only a few weeks, ready for Christmas. And the full game has an estimated release date for about the third quarter 2022. Crazy Taxi Version 1.000 prototype.
New Dreamcast Prototype found and it comes with the greatest addition ever, a freakin GTA Camera angle! Using a controller in port D you can access other camera modes, including front hood cam, remote cam (a freely controllable camera angle) and my personal favorite, the top down old school GTA camera. (picture 4 of 5 above). Pretty awesome and definitely a gift to those lookin for weird Dreamcast Oddities.

Castlevania Resurrection released!
The Castlevania Resurrection was to be officially released. The game was withdrawn off of sale because of worries of not being placed in the public domain. You may now install the game to play and give it a shot. It's still a lot of development going on and not near a completely functional game
Leaked beta discovered!
Sega was hoping to launch Dee Dee Planet in 2001. The game was nearly launched but Sega pulled the plug because of a game bug. The planet Dee Dee PCWZRD13 has made this publication possible, although it's hidden to the owner of the initial GD-R, but it's a thanks to allow the DC community to investigate it. Dreadful soundtrack apart, it seemed like a great bunch of enjoyment and one of the strange games in the catalog of the system. We will be doing a video of this beta soon!!!
METAL CANARY coming to DC!!
Metal Canary is the first game developed 100% with Titan IDE! It’s been in development for 6 months as of this post., and there will be a demo available within the next 6 months and we will ABSOLUTELY be doing a review of that demo and later on the game itself! (Release date of full game scheduled for some time in 2022) Really cant wait for this one, looks pretty awesome! Visit Titan Game Studios on YouTube and their website for more details. What an amazing job he did! (Even if using mostly machine translation) This guy, with almost zero Japanese language reading ability did a translation of a Japan exclusive Dreamcast game! He even had to remake alot of the graphics in illustrator and photoshop! Big thanks goes to you for this!

Its honestly pretty amazing how dedicated Dreamcast Fans are, even going to the lengths of translating Japanese (which they can already read) to English, JUST for other fans to get a chance to play their favorite games too! Its just very cool and the files below can be just burned to a CDR and played or just simply added to your GDEMU and there you go! Playing some amazing games from the east that have FINALLY been localized. Even if only be small dedicated teams or even individuals in some cases. Anyway, enjoy! I will keep this updated as more comes out.
