ITS FINALLY HAPPENED! RENT-A-HERO No.1 for Dreamcast has been translated!

As a diehard Dreamcast fan, I couldn't be more thrilled about the recent news that the beloved, but obscure, 2000 Sega title, Rent-A-Hero No. 1, has finally been translated by a group of talented modders. Sega may have let us down by not bringing the game to Western audiences, but these modders have picked up where the company left off and created a comprehensive translation of the game that allows us to finally experience it in all its glory. Rent-A-Hero No. 1 is an action RPG that centers around a teenager who gets a suit of armor that enables them to become a part-time superhero. It's a game with deep roots in Japanese culture, which may explain why Sega never brought it over to the West, but in today's world of Yakuza and Persona titles, that seems like less of a concern.

What's even more exciting is that Rent-A-Hero No. 1 is actually a remake of a 1991 Genesis/Mega Drive title that was also never localized officially. It's amazing to think that after all these years, we're finally getting to experience a game that Sega left behind.

Thanks to the hard work of the Rent-A-Modders, we not only have access to the translated text, but also new models and animations, VMU graphics, and secret modes that were not in the original game. It's clear that a lot of love went into this project, and as a Dreamcast fan, I'm incredibly grateful.

THANK YOU Rent-A-Modders!!!

If you're like me and have been waiting for years to play Rent-A-Hero No. 1, head over to the Rent-A-Modders' Github page to download the patch and see the full credits of the team behind this amazing project. Sega may have dropped the ball, but the Rent-A-Modders have more than made up for it with their dedication and hard work.
